Abstract: This article introduces an application case of an easy-drive ED3100 series inverter on a drilling platform. As a resource-rich country, my country has abundant resources buried underground. Drilling platforms are a means to detect whether there are resources underground before mining. They mainly detect whether there are oil, natural gas, etc. underground, as an important link before mining.

With the development of oil drilling rigs, whether it is AC or DC electric drive oil drilling rigs, or electromechanical compound drive oil drilling rigs, independent electric drive methods for turntables have been more and more widely used. At present, China tends to control the turntable by frequency conversion. In June 2013, at the request of Yanchang Petroleum Group, with the cooperation of Yulin Jingbian Petroleum Service Company, one of its subordinate turntables was transformed into frequency conversion. This article takes the easy drive ED3100 series 630KW as an example to describe in detail the application of the easy drive speed sensorless current vector type on the drill disk. With its excellent reliability and stability, it satisfies the customer’s external terminal start and stepless speed regulation. The functional requirements extend the service life of the equipment.

Compared with the mechanical drive mode of the turntable, the ED3100 variable frequency drive turntable has important advantages such as convenient speed adjustment, fast response, and energy saving. At the same time, it can greatly reduce the labor intensity of the driller.
